Bright year ahead for Guardtech’s busy Design & Build team

GUARDTECH CLEANROOMS are off to a flyer in 2021 – with two major projects nearing completion and many more exciting builds on the horizon.

Haverhill-based Guardtech are busy tying up the loose ends on a 600sqm ISO5 controlled environment build in Hull, as well as a 470sqm ISO8 installation in Mullingar, Ireland.

The Suffolk company are currently undertaking the structural and electrical work on a 150sqm ISO8 controlled environment in Goole, which they hope to complete some time after Easter.

And the busy cleanroom Design & Build experts are also continuing to fit out their CleanCube portable cleanrooms, most commonly used for COVID-19 PCR testing, with two biosafety lab containers nearing completion and many more lined up over the coming months.

Operations Director Conor Barwise was full of praise for his relentless team, who continue to pull out all the stops in these adverse times.

“The COVID-19 pandemic is making life incredibly difficult for everyone – and this is something we’ve really felt recently as a business,” he said. “With all the travel disruption, need for regular testing and prohibitive new working practices, among many other challenges, our entire team have had to be flexible with their time and show immense dedication to the cause.

“The fact that we’ve been able to complete two major projects to our usual high standards is remarkable – I’m really proud of the team.”

The short-term schedule doesn’t end there for Guardtech, with a moderate 30sqm ISO8 build in London also underway, and Mr Barwise and his team will be back at Life Sciences firm Noumed for the final stage of their epic turnkey construction build in the coming weeks.

They have already installed 688sqm of stunning CNC QC laboratory, Grade D packaging and Grade D manufacturing cleanrooms for the Pharmaceuticals company, and they will be returning to Berkshire to modify some of those Grade D cleanrooms to accommodate new equipment.

Mr Barwise is backing his team to deliver their usual impressive results in the near future, while looking forward to taking on more challenging controlled environment builds in the coming months.

“The past year has been so hard for everyone, but being able to do what we do certainly makes it easier,” he added. “I can’t wait to see the finished results of our current projects and I’m confident that all of our clients will be really happy with our work.

“We’re anticipating an extremely busy spring and summer period, and hopefully that will tie in with better news for the country as a whole as the rollout of COVID-19 vaccinations gathers pace.”
