The UK is a leader in the development of new medical, healthcare and technological methods, approaches and devices. Many of these innovations have been achieved collaboratively in world-leading Midlands research institutions, working alongside industry and clinical partners in relevant NHS Trusts.
There is a unique opportunity for the UK to harness the competitive economic advantage that its leadership in medical technologies provides.
The current levelling up and shared prosperity funding is an opportunity to direct further economic growth into the Midlands Region. In line with the Government’s Strategy, medical technology businesses in the area could benefit from the new regional funding agenda harnessing pioneering research and industrial capability to develop new and innovative projects for local, national and international markets — creating new jobs, high quality skills and driving economic growth.
In order to support the building of a strong application for the new funding landscape, Medilink Midlands is undertaking a survey of companies across the region to gain a perspective of the strengths and limitations within the region.
This survey will not be using company details when analysing responses, but it will really help to develop a personal approach to each companies’ specific needs if we can, within Medilink Midlands, match the competency and need with specific sectors.
