The next Afortiori Special Interest Group, “Clinical Trials, Data Protection and You”, will take place online on Thursday 23rd June.

Clinical trials, by their very nature, usually involve a large amount of sensitive personal data. The control and processing of personal and sensitive data means that specific data protection laws apply to Sponsors of clinical trials. Join us alongside leading experts Nicola Wall and Amy Ford to learn more about what this means in practice as you plan and implement your clinical trial.

Speakers:

Dr. Nicola Wall is the founder and CEO of Afortiori Development, a clinical trials company that addresses the need for improved clinical trial design, planning and management to promote efficient and cost effective clinical trials for all types of products. She has an exceptional background within the pharmaceutical,  medical technology and healthcare sectors with over 22 years of diverse experience across a range of therapeutic areas for a number of large and small clients spanning all areas of clinical development. She has worked closely with a number of emerging companies providing guidance and support for the clinical development journey. Afortiori Development have built an impressive global team of clinical trial specialists, clinicians and biostatisticians with experience in adult, paediatric and neonatal clinical research, and both primary and secondary healthcare settings.

Amy Ford is a highly skilled and experienced information governance practitioner. She is passionate about using new, innovative digital solutions to make the best use of Big Data in a lawful and secure manner. Before joining Kaleidoscope, Amy held a number of information governance roles in the health sector. Most recently, she was the Head of Information Governance for NHS NEL Commissioning Support Unit. Amy leads the team to ensure delivery and project management of consultancy services are running smoothly and she deputises for the managing director.
