Digital Primary Care Innovation Exchange event
Primary care providers are facing a challenging landscape where demand for appointments increases steadily, outstripping availability, managed by an already stretched workforce. There is an appetite for innovation to free up time to care, alongside a need to reduce administrative burden and support practice workforce whilst improving patient safety and efficiency.
At 10-11:30am on Thursday 12th October 2023 Health Innovation East Midlands (formerly the EMAHSN) are hosting a virtual Innovation Exchange event, showcasing Digital Innovations for Primary Care.
We have consulted with stakeholders in our region to outline the key challenges practices are looking to solve. Our Innovation Exchange event will seek to highlight digital innovations that can directly address these challenges. Presentations from innovators will be followed by opportunities for Q&A and we can help to facilitate connections between NHS colleagues and innovators following the event.
Eligibility criteria
All innovators must be available between 10-11:30 on Thursday 12th October 2023. You will be asked to prepare a three minute presentation which will be shared on-screen during the event.
The innovations showcased at the event must be digitally focussed and tackle one or more of the following themes:
- Supporting reception staff and care navigators, by reducing unnecessary administrative tasks and the number of ‘transactions’ performed
- Supporting GP and practice nursing staff, freeing up time to increase time spent with patients
- Realising the potential for RPA (Robotic Process Automation) in Primary Care
- Improving safety and efficiency whilst reducing workload overall.
Following the event there is a possibility for practices to access a range of support offers from HIEM (Health Innovation East Midlands) to assist with real world demonstration of innovations that are identified by the Innovation Exchange.
