Medilink Midlands are partnering with the China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) to provide an online webinar to hear about Chinese Healthcare 101.
Who are the CBBC:
The China-Britain Business Council (CBBC) is the UK’s national business network promoting trade and investment with China. Since 1954 they have acted as the independent voice of business: located at the heart of the action, engaging across both countries in every sector and region.
Their Membership includes some of the UK’s leading companies and universities, many of the most dynamic UK SMEs, and an ever-increasing number of Chinese companies exporting to and investing in the UK. CBBC plays an important role in helping shape bilateral relations between the UK and China through our close links to the UK Government and the Devolved Administrations; the Chinese Government at national, provincial and municipal level; and the British and Chinese Embassies.
The hour long webinar, will provide the opportunity to hear from the team at CBBC and the following topics will be covered:
- Introduction to CBBC
- General overview of the Chinese Healthcare Market
- Policy and demographic information/challenges
- Consequent opportunities for UK companies within the Chinese Healthcare Sector
Speaker Profiles:
Kiran Patel, Senior Director, China-Britain Business Council
Kiran Patel is the China-Britain Business Council’s senior director for commercial services and is responsible for the work of the organisation’s sector teams across its 9 offices within the mainland.
A former diplomat within the British Embassy’s Cultural & Education Section with the British Council, Kiran has been living in China since 2004 and has extensive knowledge of conducting public affairs, business development, marketing, and strategic communications in and with the country.
An active member of the UK-China business community for two decades, Kiran has also worked in the professional services sector. He is a fluent Mandarin speaker.
Elinor Greenhouse, Senior Adviser, Tech and Innovation, China-Britain Business Council
As sector lead for Tech and Innovation, Elinor is responsible for supporting British tech and healthcare companies entering and operating within the Chinese market and leads on CBBC’s engagement for intellectual property matters and export licensing regulation. Prior to joining CBBC, Elinor lived in China for eight years, where she worked as an intellectual property strategist advising international companies on IP strategy in China.
Elinor is a fluent Mandarin speaker and has previously translated for academic journals in the fields of Economics and Law. She holds a bachelor’s in law from The University of Sheffield and a master’s in Chinese law from Peking University, where she focused her research on the use of AI within China’s smart courts.
