By 2040, nearly one in seven people in the UK is predicted to be aged over 75, with many living with multiple morbidities.
The Blue Zone Consortium (BZC) is a partnership between Nottingham Trent University, University of Leicester and Northumbria University Newcastle, supporting research related to three transversal themes:
- Metabolic health
- Health and ageing across the life course
- Transformative technologies to tackle health inequalities
Their mission is to support inter-sector collaboration to reduce the gap between health span and lifespan.
