Fresh Pharma, the sister company to Fresh Logistics, has started the first phase of its vehicle renewal program by purchasing three of the highest pharmaceutical specification vehicles available on the market to help service their increasing demand in the healthcare, pharmaceutical and related industries.

The vehicles, built by GRP Group in Leeds, are Mercedes Benz 313 Sprinter vans and will feature the latest ThermoKing refrigeration unit complete with dual evaporators, allowing independent chamber range between -18C through to +25C. For complete temperature traceability they will have installed the highest spec Seven Telematics TranScan, the insulation will come with ATP Class C certification and will be UKAS certified temperature mapped.

Fresh Pharma drivers are comprehensively GDP trained and for each journey are equipped with handheld data terminals that report back to the Transport Management System, giving live-time tracking, ETA’s, arrival and departure times plus capturing delivery signatures that can be emailed automatically on delivery.

Fresh Pharma was introduced due to a partnership with the National Repository Centre in Nottingham for specialist temperature controlled human tissue specimen transfers, where they are distributing donated material to licensed centres around the country with the approval of the Human Tissue Authority.

Since Fresh Pharma’s incorporation, they have provided specialist logistical solutions for many businesses, groups, universities, hospitals and charities, including frozen medical devices packed in dry ice overnight to Europe and the USA, urgent blood samples between university institutes, bio-agricultural samples delivered to several European destinations going as far as Budapest, plus daily multi-temperature pharmaceutical transfers.

Managing Director Alan White stated ‘the vehicle design and specification took time, planning, investment and commitment, however this was necessary to make sure Fresh Pharma was again ahead of its competitors. Our vehicles are required due to our vast range of customers, having the heating option means that when the outside temperatures is in minuses, our vehicles can provide positive temperature transfers where others can’t. We strive to provide the highest service levels, so constantly advancing our fleet to offer the best package for our customers is one of the key responsibilities we must maintain.’
