Gallagher’s Coventry Office are seeking a Business Development Executive to join their Life Sciences team. Within the role, you will be responsible for actively growing and sourcing new business within the Life Science Industry. This role can be performed remotely, as we are seeking an individual who has a keen interest, or previous experience within the Life Sciences Industry.

This role sits within Gallagher’s Commercial Broking Division, who provide carefully tailored business insurance, risk management and risk transfer solutions for large enterprises and multinationals. You may have commercial broking experience, or a background working with organisations within Biotechnology, clinical research, drug manufacturing and development facilities.

Your Role:

  • Actively seek and respond to all new business opportunities whilst exceeding your targets. There is a strong focus here on the monetary goals but more importantly, how you engage with your clients and the impact on our reputation within the market.
  • Focus on the needs of your retail customers, we offer a broad range of services and products so you’ll have plenty of chances to upsell.
  • Contributing to our overall target, you’re a strong performer, great teammate, and act with the highest integrity.
  • Attend trade related dinners, AGM’s, trade shows, expo’s etc. able to rely heavily on your interpersonal skills and ability to network at all levels to seize new opportunities.
  • Outstanding communication skills and powers to negotiate effectively get you the most appropriate terms with Underwriters and Insurers.
  • Present a dynamic and professional image of our company to everyone you meet, actively encouraging open dialogue about our industry and how we’re experts in our field.

Your Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

  • Holding or working towards one of the Chartered Insurance Institute Qualifications, Dip CII or FIT would be an advantage. Educated to GCSE standard or equivalent, with an intermediate knowledge of the commercial insurance industry.
  • Previous experience in the insurance industry is advantageous, as is having worked to targets within a regulated, measurable framework and achieved SLAs.
  • A keen eye for business and sales management experience gained in a commercial setting.
  • Dedicated to deliver, we truly believe in your abilities and will support you to achieve and grow with us. A consistent track record of delivering against targets within a regulated, measurable framework is vital.
  • Comfortable in generating leads and building pipelines autonomously, for you it’s about making things happen and providing the best possible service and business outcomes.
  • Proficient in MS office, and Acturis experience would be advantageous.
  • Eligibility to work in the UK with the ability to travel.
