WEBINAR: Implications of COVID-19 for the Life Sciences sector

Join Mills & Reeve partners, James Fry and Melanie James, for an insight into the legal and regulatory issues thrown up by the COVID-19 pandemic. James and Melanie will highlight some of the main questions facing businesses during this difficult period, as they grapple with staffing issues, contractual problems and regulatory turbulence.

This webinar will cover:

-supply chain problems and how to improve your position
-constraints on clinical trials and what authorities are doing to enable workarounds
-how to maintain regulatory compliance – what flexibilities are available?
-deferral of medical devices rule changes
-Government schemes to support employment while controlling disease spread
-looking beyond the crisis and planning for more normal activity to resume

There will also be an opportunity to directly ask questions to the presenters.

Speaker Profiles

James Fry, Head of Life Sciences and Partner – Mills & Reeve

James heads the firm’s fast growing, multi-disciplinary life sciences practice and focuses exclusively on this sector. The practice supports clients in the pharma and biotech, medical device, diagnostic, medtech and digital health sub-sectors. James’ own practice focuses on intellectual property, commercial contracting and regulatory work.

 

 Melanie James, Partner, Employment Lawyer – Mills & Reeve

Melanie is the employment lawyer and has a wealth of experience supporting private sector employers, both international and domestic, at all stages of their lifecycle. Whilst Melanie’s practice is diverse, she has a particular interest and focus on the Life Sciences sector.
