6.10 pm- 6.45 pm: Social Media Use in Work and Beyond – Dr Claire Taylor
This session focuses on the good, the bad and the ugly of social media use in and beyond work. We barely give it a second thought as it is so ingrained in its use which uniquely straddles both our social and working lives. On one hand these devices aid businesses to interconnect, communicate, and build productivity. Yet, on the other hand our personal use of these devices is somewhat more challenging which impacts on business reputation and may decrease the boundaries which previously existed between work and privacy. The session will explore the potential impact social media devices have on organisations, yourselves and the colleagues you work with. The aim is to help you develop strategies and people management approaches which will help you better control these devices in work.
