Digital & Advanced Manufacturing Special Interest Group – Opportunities in the New Normal

Join Medilink EM Member Silverstone Technology Cluster for a Digital & Advanced Manufacturing Special Interest Group on-line event, organised in association with Medilink EM and the Midlands Aerospace Alliance (MAA).

We are delighted to welcome Nicholas Brown, Commercial Manager with the East Midlands Academic Health Science Network (EMAHSN) who will outline how to become part of the NHS supply chain, how the pandemic has changed things and what new opportunities exist for innovative companies. He brings experience from working with manufacturers, distributors and clinical staff from the UK and European health sectors and currently focuses on building closer links between healthcare and businesses to identify new services and products that can be introduced for the benefit of patients providing wealth creation opportunities across the East Midlands.

We are also pleased to be hearing insights on the aerospace industry from Andrew Mair, CEO of the Midlands Aerospace Alliance, who will share his perspective of how the landscape has changed in this sector with the pandemic and what it means for the industry.

You will also hear some inspirational case studies from STC member companies, highlighting how the pandemic has offered new opportunities and ways of doing things in the manufacturing and medical technology sectors. The following speakers will share their experience and perspectives on how their organisations have adapted to the challenges of the recent situation:

Niall Johanson from Charpak will share their latest “no bounce out” technology that was developed specifically to suit fully automated and robotic production lines, where physical handling of parts needs to be kept to a minimum.

Also, sharing the latest innovations from a newly developed PPE line of products, Kieron Salter from KWSP, will highlight how his company has adapted to the pandemic and re-aligned their products and processes to the new situation.
