Webinar: Precision Imaging- transforming healthcare and nutrition with pioneering imaging

Wednesday 23 September 2020 @ 11:00 am - 12:00 pm BST

Join this webinar with the University of Nottingham where they will showcase the latest developments and capabilities in precision imaging.

Topics will include innovations in the application of imaging tools to:
-Pharmaceuticals
-Nutrition in food and beverages
-Medical Devices
-Biomarkers for health

There will also be an opportunity to ask your questions directly to the presenters in a Q&A session.

A wide range of available expertise will be explored from medicine, physics, mathematics, psychology, life sciences and computer sciences. Information will also be presented on the facilities dedicated to research full time, so you can find facilities and expertise to help with your product development.

This free to attend event is held as part of the INSTILS programme – a project part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund, click here to be re-directed to further information about the project.  This event is classed as State Aid to participating businesses, the value of which is £127, but is delivered completely free of charge to participants.

Speaker Profiles:

Professor Dorothee Auer, Professor of Neuroimaging, MD, PhD

Director, Precision Imaging Beacon of Excellence, Imaging Theme Lead, NIHR ~Nottingham BRC

Dorothee’s research interest is to develop imaging biomarkers in Clinical Neurosciences using advanced MRI techniques. Aims are: (1)understand the pathophysiology of diseases/complex symptoms across diseases, (2)improve diagnostic accuracy, (3)predict and assess therapeutic interventions. Methods include MR proton spectroscopy, diffusion tensor imaging, perfusion, relaxometry, high resolution carotid imaging and combined electrophysiological/fMRI.

Professor Luca Marciani, Precision Imaging Beacon, Industrial Strategy and Business Engagement Lead, University of Nottingham

Luca’s expertise is in imaging the human gastrointestinal (GI) tract using MRI. His research focuses on GI physiology/pathology using MRI combined with other techniques. Luca is interested in in-body imaging of foods, beverages, dosage forms and formulations, intestinal fluid distribution and developing novel MRI tests for GI motility and transit.
