WEBINAR: A personal account of CE marking during the COVID-19 pandemic

This webinar tells the story of how PPE regulation was relaxed to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and the practical and personal experiences of becoming a manufacturer of protective face shields for local NHS trusts and nursing homes.

Alongside speakers from The University of Nottingham, Centre for Healthcare Technologies the webinar will cover:

– Relaxation of PPE standards, particularly EN 166
– How this was implemented in the UK
– Getting a COVID-19 CE mark
– Local production for local NHS Trusts
– What makes it personal

Plus there will be the opportunity to ask questions.

DURATION: 1 hour
This free to attend webinar will be held as part of the INSTILS programme – a project part-funded by the European Regional Development Fund. This event is classed as State Aid to participating businesses, the value of which is £127, but is delivered completely free of charge to participants.

Speaker:

Professor Donal McNally, Professor of Biomechanics, The University of Nottingham 
Donal is Professor of Biomechanics and heads the Bioengineering Research Group at the University of Nottingham. His primary research interest is in spinal biomechanics and soft tissue biomechanics and he has been involved in the development of spinal implants, safety legislation and other healthcare devices. Donal is Deputy Director of the Centre for Healthcare Technologies.
