Medilink Midlands has revealed the findings of its 2024 Voice of Industry report, which seeks to capture the support challenges to medtech and life sciences businesses from across the Midlands and beyond.

The report’s findings covered a range of issues faced by the region’s medtech and life sciences sector, and highlighted the essential need for solutions that support and overcome these challenges, to aid growth potential and economic input across the regions.

The following factors from the 2024 survey ranked as the top innovation support challenges:

  • NHS and clinical expertise
  • Understanding the clinical trials process
  • Market information

Launched in 2022, the Voice of Industry Report draws upon Medilink Midlands’ extensive network to validate the challenges and barriers preventing companies in the medtech and life sciences sector from achieving their optimal growth and success to help the organisation shape the sector’s business support needs.

Working with patrons, members and strategic partners, Medilink Midlands aims to promote an environment for innovation and create mechanisms for engagement between businesses, academics, the NHS. Through best practise and knowledge sharing, we can better support the sector, and help address the challenges and barriers identified in this report.
