Turbine Creative’s dynamic video content showcases the future of chemical purchasing, helping propel Thermo Fisher Scientific’s Chem dex™ to new heights.

Turbine Creative, a leading marketing agency renowned for its innovation and creativity, proudly continues its partnership with Thermo Fisher Scientific in supporting the launch of the groundbreaking web app, Chem dex™. Leveraging the power of dynamic 3D animation, Turbine Creative has brought chemistry to life through an engaging and effective promotional animation that showcases the website’s revolutionary features.

Chem dex™ is poised to revolutionize the landscape of chemical research, providing scientists with a faster and simpler buying experience for purchasing chemicals. This could be useful for lab professionals working in pharmaceuticals, health care and manufacturing to name a few. This web app enables users to search related chemicals, including reagents, solvents, catalysts, and building blocks grouped by reaction. Previously, chemical purchasers would have to trawl through multiple websites, catalogues and use different suppliers. All of which takes time and becomes problematic to share with purchasing departments. However, using sophisticated algorithms, Chem dex™ collates all the chemicals required for your chosen reactions into a shopping basket to share with colleagues and purchasing departments as well as offering supporting literature on the chemical reactions you have selected.

To communicate the innovation and efficiency of this industry-leading tool, Thermo Fisher Scientific turned to Turbine Creative for their exceptional creative vision and expertise.

“Turbine Creative have been wonderful to work with. Over the past year they have created several promotional videos for us, both long and short. They take a concept and turn it into something fabulous! They are extremely personable and professional. I would recommend them to any size company if you are looking for a top notch video!”

Pam Poulin, Global Market Development Manager, Marketing manager

Turbine Creative’s approach began with a thorough understanding of Chem dex™’s functionality, benefits, and features. The team collaborated closely with Thermo Fisher Scientific to hone the brief and align the objectives of the promotional animation. This collaborative effort allowed for a deep dive into the app’s essence, ensuring that every aspect of the animation resonated with its innovative spirit.

Drawing on their expertise in creative storytelling and visual communication, Turbine Creative explored various stylistic possibilities for 3D animation. After presenting mood boards and examples of potential animation styles, the team decided on a contemporary, kinetic, and stylish 3D animation that emphasized the app’s slick and efficient characteristics.

The result was a visually stunning and dynamic promotional video that effectively captured the essence of Chem dex™. The animation seamlessly combines high-production value 3D visuals with instructional and educational content, making it accessible and engaging for lab professionals and scientists of all levels.

Creative Director Tim Bassford is excited about the potential of using similar 3D animations to help local businesses also working within health tech and life science industries.

“This was a very challenging brief to work on, in as much as the subject matter was an online interface and we had no footage to work with. However, once our team started talking about how revolutionary and dynamic this app actually was, we began thinking about how we could reveal the web app in a similarly dynamic, kinetic and contemporary style. Being able to reveal the current challenges lab professionals are faced with also gave us a great jumping off point to reveal the brilliant benefits of Chem dex™! – All using lots of camera movement and slick 3D models! Hopefully this shows we can make any subject matter look exciting and cool, even if the product is relatively non-visual ”
